The Dignity Act in New York State aims to create a safe and supportive environment for students in public elementary and secondary schools. It is designed to prevent discrimination, intimidation, taunting, harassment, and bullying on school grounds, on school buses, and during school events.
In New York State, educators must take the Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) training workshop. This training is required for certification and focuses on preventing and stopping harassment, bullying, and discrimination in schools. It takes a minimum of six hours to complete.
