About Your Instructor
Both of my parents were sharecroppers from the Carolinas. I had a chronic illness and as a result I missed a lot of school. In addition, I had a severe speech impediment and school was very challenging. Education beyond high school, was not an expectation.
One of the greatest motivators for the work that I do today occurred in grade school. While struggling through a vocabulary lesson one teacher paused the activity to say to a colleague, “He is so stupid.” I never thought that I would become an educator, and build a business dedicated to encouraging the school community to think critically, constructively and creatively. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and later advanced my skills by earning a Master of Science in Educational Leadership.
Serving as a school administrator, and supporting students and educators from elementary school through university has prepared me to engage with diverse communities, schools and individuals.
